Why gluten-free travelers come to us

Eat without second-guessing

Finding gluten-free food in Japan can be hard — soy sauce, tempura batter and noodles all tend to contain wheat. At L for You, the whole kitchen works without it.

No wheat in our kitchen

We don’t use wheat flour, and no wheat is handled in our kitchen — down to the seasonings. We cook with tamari instead of regular soy sauce.

Rice flour, baked in-house

Our tarts, cookies and donuts are baked with carefully selected rice flour. Every baked good is vegan: no eggs, no dairy, and no refined cane sugar.

Ask us about any dish

Tell us about your allergy or diet when you book or order, and we will tell you what goes into each dish.

We don’t use wheat flour, and no wheat is handled in our kitchen. However, we cannot rule out trace contamination that comes from the raw materials themselves — for example, when an ingredient is grown or processed near wheat. Some items contain nuts such as walnuts and almonds.

Is the whole menu vegan?

All of our baked goods are vegan — no eggs and no dairy. Many of our cafe dishes are vegan too, but some include fish, chicken or pork, so please ask when you order.

Can you tell me the ingredients of a dish?

Yes. Tell us about your allergy or diet and we will tell you the ingredients of each dish. Some items contain nuts such as walnuts and almonds.

Do I need a reservation?

Walk-ins are welcome, but weekends and holidays get busy, so we recommend booking online.
