The beet cookie is made with carefully chosen rice flour; the oatmeal cookie with gluten-free whole-grain oats. See ingredients.
Why rice flour and oats?
The beet cookie is baked with carefully chosen rice flour instead of wheat flour. Rice flour contains no gluten, so a cookie made with it can be gluten-free, as long as the other ingredients contain none either. The oatmeal cookie is made with whole-grain oats that meet the Western gluten-free threshold (under 20 ppm). Neither uses refined cane sugar, and we let the flavour of the ingredients come through.
L for You is a cafe in Minami-Aoyama. With standards reviewed by AFRODE CLINIC, we design how we choose ingredients and make our recipes. We make no claims about health effects; because these are everyday treats, we simply tell you as honestly as we can what goes into them.
No wheat flour, no refined cane sugar, and vegan — no eggs or dairy — in a single cookie. The ingredients of each product are listed in full.
For families managing gluten or food allergies
Many families check ingredient labels one by one. Our cookies are made without wheat flour and without refined cane sugar, and we share what goes into each product as concretely as we can.
We don’t use wheat flour, eggs or dairy, and no wheat is handled in our kitchen. However, we cannot rule out trace contamination that comes from the raw materials themselves — for example, when an ingredient is grown or processed near wheat, eggs or dairy. Some items contain nuts such as walnuts and almonds. Please check the ingredients of each product. We don’t promise “safety”; we try to give you the information you need to decide.
